ACCOUNTABILITY:  I will consider returning the budget approval authority for the Tax Collector’s Office to the local elected budgeting body (BOCC), rather than the state, if it provides more accountability to local taxpayers and citizens.

TRANSPARENCY:  I will deposit 100% of collected tax dollars to the County Treasury and not divert any portion into other accounts where it may be difficult or impossible to see how they are being spent by the Tax Collector.

PRUDENT MANAGEMENT:  I will manage the affairs of the Office prudently & professionally so as to avoid any unnecessary expenses, legal fees and settlements in which all county taxpayers ultimately bear the cost.

ENHANCED SERVICES:  I will take full advantage of the Tax Collector’s authority to provide additional free services (increased online services) plus allowed fee-based services (Concealed Weapon Licenses) that can offset much of the taxpayers’ cost of operating the Tax Collector’s Office.
